It may be uncomfortable to talk about, because you may not think you even have trauma or issues. The truth is we ALL do and it shows up in our marriage whether we want to admit it or not.

Sitting around waiting, and hoping for something to change in our marriages, pointing the finger, stewing over past pain and heartbreak without doing anything about it–truly makes no sense and will only increase our resentment, loneliness, and disconnection.
We know that we control 50% of our marriage right? However, what I have discovered in my years helping others, is that we truly affect so much more than we think in our relationships.
How we act and show up in our marriage directly impacts how our husband shows up…we just don’t often have the ability to see this clearly when we are so close to our own pain and frustration.
I hear this a lot and truly you are preaching to the choir :) The hard truth here is–if you want something different and you have tried all the things…then it is unfortunately up to you to make something different happen.
From a psychological point of view, when we are the ones suffering and in heartbreak and pain; then it is ONLY up to us to make something different happen, because WE are the ones that are upset about it. Make sense?
I know it’s frustrating to think, “One more thing I have to do in this marriage”. What I want to challenge and encourage you towards is this…What if your stubbornness has been holding you back thus far because you haven’t been willing to lean into the challenge and take action?

Our change as human beings does NOT take place in a vacuum.
